Evergreen Systems Co, maker of the Evergreen Miner v2 was awarded a Chia Cultivation Grant for a Lite Farmer. March 2023 marked the completion of the first milestone wherein the Lite Farmer was demonstrated to properly interact with the Chia blockchain, processing data and creating blocks.
The Lite Farmer (or 1-Click Farming) is an open source application intended to work with a trusted Chia full node. It allows users to start farming without a locally synced full node by connecting to a remote node at some trusted location. This technology enables more users to incorporate Chia, including those desiring to utilize over provisioned space on network attached storage (NAS).
The Chia Cultivation Grant program was launched to award funding and support to projects that demonstrate an innovative idea that will help accelerate the developer ecosystem and usability of the Chia blockchain technology. Since its inception in August 2021, it has awarded over $1m USD to more than 15 recipients throughout the Chia ecosystem.
